SMS works to meet the unique needs of the middle school student. We facilitate student learning by integrating purposeful technology into all content areas, offering a challenging curriculum, and delivering strategically taught lessons to elicit cognitive engagement.

Our Pupil Support Team provides an avenue for teachers to problem solve when students are struggling and find ways to move their learning forward.  Student learning at SMS is not limited to the academic curriculum, however. We have implemented several efforts to enhance the climate and culture of our school to increase student motivation and the learning of respect and responsibility. A qualified, unified, and diverse faculty provides consistent learning opportunities designed to educate the whole child, helping to bridge the gap between elementary and high school.

The family atmosphere of Sparkman Middle School is one of our greatest assets. Faculty members willingly take the responsibility for making our school the best place for students to learn and grow. Staff morale is high, and the commitment to the students is even higher. SMS teachers are dedicated to helping all students overcome the obstacles they face and achieve their greatest potential.
